Calls to non-geographic numbers beginning 08, 09 and 118 are split into two parts. The Smile access charge is the cost to connect the call. The cost of this is 45p per minute charged by the second with a one-minute minimum call charge. The rest of the amount is the service charge which is set by the service or organisation you are calling.
